Vauxhall Insignia gets 2021 revamp

There's a lot to like about the revamp for 2021 of the Vauxhall Insignia car lease range with more technology and efficient engines.

The exterior design has also been tweaked and the carmaker says that the new model uses 18% less fuel than the outgoing versions.

That's down to the new high-efficiency engines, plus there's a new GSI model as the range-topper.

The Insignia GSI has unique suspension tuning and upgraded steering to deliver a sportier offering.

The firm says that a four-cylinder 2.0-litre diesel engine will be unveiled later this year for better levels of performance.

Also, the petrol engines are the first from Vauxhall that will use cylinder deactivation to help reduce fuel consumption.

The 0 to 62mph sprint time is just over seven seconds for the 200 HP unit, while the powerful alternative has slightly lower fuel economy but higher emissions.

Fuel consumption for the turbocharged three-cylinder diesel engine ranges from 57mpg to 62mpg.

Most engines come with a six-speed manual transmission, while the powerful offerings have the choice option of an eight-speed smooth-changing automatic gearbox.

Segment's most aerodynamic car

Vauxhall says is new Insignia is also the segment's most aerodynamic car.

And the firm has added a full-face active shutter to the front grille to boost aerodynamic efficiency even further.

This is also a safe car with lots of safety tech, including automatic emergency braking that has pedestrian detection and lane keeping assist.

Drivers also get adaptive cruise control and emergency braking, advanced parking assistance and traffic sign recognition.
