Review: Volvo V60 2021

The Volvo V60 makes for a great car leasing choice in the premium estate car sector segment with a stylish and spacious offering.

It is packed with technology and some great design ideas, and the cabin is one of the best and most comfortable in the segment.

There’s no doubt that Volvo has taken what it does well and given it a polish with the V60 to be a practical and well-equipped estate.

It's also geared towards delivering comfort while on the move rather than a vehicle that is meant to be driven hard – and this distinction helps it stand out.

The seats are very comfortable and there's plenty of space for those sitting in the rear, plus the boot is also practical and large.

Volvo V60 car lease

The Volvo V60 car lease dashboard is dominated by a nine-inch touchscreen that is easy-to-use and the overall impression is of a quality and bright cabin to impress.

It's up against the likes of the BMW 3 Series Touring and the Mercedes C-Class Estate but the V60 offers a comfortable and cossetted drive.

The boot is 520 litres – larger than most rivals – and a cool flip-up divider so shopping bags can be attached. There's the option of a plug socket and the V60 also has a towing limit of 2,000 kg.

Contract hire Volvo V60

Engines for the contract hire Volvo V60 include a 2.0-litre diesel engine delivering 194 bhp and this unit will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in a reasonable 7.9 seconds. The power is delivered using an eight-speed automatic transmission.

This engine can return more than 50mpg, while the petrol engines deliver a wider choice of performance for contract hire drivers.

The petrol units produce between 161 bhp and 298 bhp and there is a four-wheel drive model delivering lots of grip for those that need it, with the Volvo V60 B6.

Volvo also offers its plug-in hybrid, the Recharge T6 and company car drivers will find that the Recharge T8 offers the best Benefit-in-Kind (BiK) tax rate.

V60 is a superlative motorway cruiser

And while the V60 is a superlative motorway cruiser with a great stance and composure, it's also a rewarding car to drive around town.

The steering feels light and there's good acceleration for a car that has an impressive suspension to smooth out rough road surfaces.

And despite the size, the V60 is easy to park and navigate along tight country roads.

All versions of the V60 are well-equipped and the standard kit list includes an impressive and easy-to-use infotainment system, LED headlights and satnav.

The V60 Pro versions offer more luxury touches, while the R Design is the sporty trim look.

Essentially, there's a lot to like about the Volvo V60 – this is a stylish car that is well made with more comfort than its rivals and in a competitive segment, the V60 car lease is a practical all-rounder to impress.
