Mazda CX-5 gets 2021 revamp

The impressive Mazda CX-5 car lease range has been revamped for 2021 and is now in the UK’s showrooms.

Among the improved features is a new flagship 2.5-litre petrol engine producing 194 PS - it first appeared in the Mazda6 last year.

There's also a new CX-5 Kuro special edition which features a 2.0-litre petrol engine producing 165 PS.

Equipment for this special offering includes heated front seats, a leather sports steering wheel and an electrically adjustable driver's seat.

There's also an upgraded infotainment system across the CX-5 range and Mazda has unveiled it will have various connected services.

Mazda CX-5 car lease

The Mazda CX-5 car lease now features a new faster and larger 10.25-inch display with the intuitive Connect Commander system.

The connected services offering is operated with the firm’s MyMazda app.

This means drivers can enjoy remote door locking, the ability to pre-program the car’s satnav with a destination and use the vehicle finder facility.

There are 18 models in the 2021 line-up with the offer of diesel and petrol engines with either automatic or manual transmission.

Drivers also have the option of front-wheel drive, or the firm’s excellent i-Activ all-wheel drive system.

Contract hire Mazda CX-5

The trims for the contract hire Mazda CX-5 with the manual gearbox models also have cylinder deactivation to boost fuel consumption.

The 2.5-litre engine has fuel economy of around 36mpg, and there's a 2.2-litre diesel engine available producing 181 bhp.

Mazda says that the CX-5 that is fitted with the automatic transmission now offers slightly lower emissions because it is more efficient.

There's also better throttle pedal calibration across the range with improved engine response to boost the car’s rewarding drive and handling.

The exterior design has been untouched, though the limited edition Kuro has some styling tweaks.

New Mazda CX-5 is available to order now

The new Mazda CX-5 is available to order now and the range will be boosted in March with the appearance of the all-electric MX-30.

Mazda says that the range’s refresh will help the CX-5 remain competitive in the segment with the likes of the Honda CR-V and the Volkswagen Tiguan.
